TOP TIPS FOR STAYING SAFE IN THE SUMMER SUN
- HIGHEST UV EXPOSURE TIMES :: Knowing when you're most susceptible to sun damage is the first step to being safe and properly protecting yourself. The highest UV exposure time is from 10:00am until 4:00pm. It's especially important to use sun protection during these hours.
- SUNSCREEN :: It may seem like such a simple or insignificant step, BUT TRUST US - Protecting your skin from the sun is SO important. Even if its a lower SPF, please just apply it!
- UPF CLOTHING :: Besides sunscreen, there is also sun protecting clothing! UPF is the rating used for clothes that protect you from UVA/UVB rays.
- DAB, DON'T RUB :: It's hot and your sweating, you take a towel and wipe your face off for a little refreshment...but you've also just wiped away your SPF protection. We advise dabbing your sweat away, instead of wiping or rubbing. By dabbing your removing your sweat, but not removing your SPF along with it.
- HATS & BANDANAS :: Sun hats, bucket hats, even just a baseball cap. Having something to shade and cover your face, neck, and chest from the sun is MAJOR KEY. Bandanas are great for neck and chest protection, and they're fashionable!
- POLARIZED SUNGLASSES :: Sun protection isn't only for your skin! Protecting your eyes from the harsh UV rays is also a great idea for when you're outside all day. Polarized sunglasses protect your eyes from the rays that reflect off of other surfaces. They help to reduce glare, reduces eye strain, and improves clarity of vision.
